简介:The ionosphere is defined as the layer of the Earth’s atmosphere that is ionized by solar and cosmic radiations. It can influence the propagation of trans-ionospheric radio waves and thus of importance for human’s activities in near-Earth space, e.g., the operations of Low Earth orbiting (LEO) satellites and precise positioning relying on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). The measurements from LEO satellites provide a global view for monitoring the dynamics of Earth’s ionosphere. In this report, we will summarize our ionospheric related studies by using in situ measurements from LEO missions, like CHAMP, GRACE, and GOCE. In addition, the LEO constellation, like ESA’s Swarm mission, provides an unprecedented opportunity for investing more detailed variation of ionosphere that cannot be achieved by using single spacecraft observations. At last we will discuss recent activities related to the China Seismo-Electromagnetic satellite (CSES).
